Varkala Sivagiri Temple

Varkala is a famous pilgrim center, located 41 kms North of Thiruvananthapuram by rail and 51 kms by road. The Samadhi of Sree Narayana Guru, The great social reformer and philosopher, attracts devotees in thousands.

The cliffs and mineral water springs at the Papanasam Beach are worth a visit. The inland waterways system connecting Kollam in the North, with Thiruvananthapuram in the South, passes through two tunnels in the hills. The 2000 year old Janardhana Swamy Temple here attracts many devotees. A quiet, secluded stretch of the sands. The Nature Care Centre is also an attractions here.

Railway Station:: Varkala is also connected by Rail Network. If coming from Trivandrum and Cochin, the better option will be coming by train. Almost all trains passing by stops at Varkala. From Varkala Railway Station, Taxis and Auto Rickshaws can be hired. Papanasam Beach is around 5km from Varkala Railway Station Rs 40/50 by Auto Rickshaw).
