Silent Valley located in Nilgiri Hills bio-reserve is a Natural Paradise on the land of Kerala.The valley has an elevation ranges from 900 M to 2,300 above the sea level and offers breathtaking view of nature at its best

. Silent Valley National Park is situated in the northeastern corner of Palakkad District. The whole Park area is a roughly rectangular tableland closed on all sides. Being the part of Niligiri hills this valley is hugely attracted by tourist, nature lovers , and adventurers.

With its rich diversity of flora and fauna the place is place none other in the world , truly remarkable. A perennial river named Kunthipuzha is passing through the western side of the park, from north to south in direction finally merging in to Bharathapuzha.

The flora of the valley include about a 1000 species of flowering plants, 107 species of orchids, 100 ferns and fern allies, 200 liverworts, 75 lichens and about 200 algae.National Park is rich in faunal diversity and harbours 34 species of mammals, 292 species of birds, 31 species of reptiles, 22 species of amphibians, 13 species of fishes, 500 species of butterflies and moths.The most famous resident of the Park is Lion Tailed Macaque whose name has become almost synonymous with that of the Valley. A shy dweller of the canopy, this primate can be seen singly or in groups.
