Rajamala hills in Munnar, Idukki

Rajamala hill station is located in Idukki district and is at a distance of 15 kms from Munnar. It is located at a height of 2695 m above sea level. The Nilgiri Tahr which is an endangered species is found here. Tourists come here mainly to take a glimpse of this animal. People can get engaged in various adventurous activities like rock climbing, mountaineering etc.

The forests of Eravikulam – Rajamala region attract a huge crowd. Rajamala wildlife sanctuary is a part of the Eravikulam wildlife sanctuary. There are a wide variety of fauna here and the bird watchers can also spend a great time here. The Kuthumkal waterfalls in Rajamala are also very attractive. Nyayamakad which is near to Rajamala is a land of waterfalls and the heights of the hills through which the water flows down is around 1600 m. The highest peak of south India namely the Anamudi hill which has a height of 2695 m lies in Eravikulam national park.
