Parsi Anju Amman Baug

Many Parsis from Mumbai and Gujarat, looking for better business prospects, reached Kozhikode in the latter half of 18th century. More than 100 families settled here, contributing greatly to the business and trade in Malabar.

The temple they built, the Parsi Anju Amman Baug in S.M. Street is the only Parsi temple in Kerala. Though most Parsi families have since left the state, the temple stands as testimony to Kozhikode’s Parsi connection.
