Cherai Beach, Must Visit Beach in Kochi

Cherai beach is situated in Vypin Island in Ernakulam district. This beach which is popularly called as the golden beach of Kerala is very beautiful with clean and shallow sea waters. This makes this beach an ideal one for swimming and sun bathing. The beach is of length 15 kms. Here the lagoon and the sea are separated by few meters only. The beach is bordered by green coconut palms and paddy fields.  During December, tourist fest is conducted in Cherai beach. If one is lucky, they can have a glimpse of the dolphins in this sea. Cherai beach has an ambience that makes it unique from the rest. This beach is famous for its mouth watering sea food cuisines. For nature lovers and photographers it is a treat to the eye as the landscape of Cherai beach is so glorious. At the far end of the beach, Chinese fishing nets can be seen.

This beach has been beautified recently by making a walkway of length 400 meters and setting lamps that makes the beach more attractive during nights also. On the beach, you can find beautiful seashells which are of various shapes and sizes. Water sport facilities are available which include water scooter, speed boats etc. There is also a park for the children. All these attract the tourists in large numbers and make this beach an excellent tourist destination.
