Aralam Wildlife Sanctuary Kannur

Aralam wildlife sanctuary is the one which is located in the northernmost part of Kerala in the Kannur district. This is also the smallest sanctuary of our state. It was established in the year 1984 and has its headquarters at Iritty. Teak and eucalyptus are the main plantations that are found here and it has a variety of flora and fauna. The tallest peak is called as Katti Betta which has a height of about 1145 m. The tourists to this place can enjoy trekking as well.

Ecotourism Activities:

Some of the animals that are found here include elephants, deers, leopards, bison etc. it is attractive place for the nature lovers. The people can stay in the watch towers to catch a glimpse of the wildlife. There is a waterfall nearby called as the Meenmutty waterfalls where the tourists can enjoy it and relax from here as well. A good picnic spot near to this is the Aralam River. There is also another waterfall called as the Chavachi waterfall. Another major tourist attraction is the Ambalapara peak.
